WWD MAGIC

This past week, the twice-a-year MAGIC trade show took over Las Vegas, and House of Hair & Glitter was there for it. We spent two days scoping out the latest trends in Mens/Womenswear for Fall '15 at MAGIC and PROJECT, which seem to be feathered skirts, faux fur and friiiiiinge! (p.s. We LOVE. Where do we sign up?!)

Although RTW isn't our "thing", it's incredibly beneficial for us to  know what's happening in the market, and to stay up to date on garment technology,  fabric treatments, silhouettes and colors. Inspiration can come from virtually anywhere, so to say the least, the shows were a complete visual and mental overload.

We spotted some of the latest in SUPER funky footwear at POOL. There were fuzzy green Martian platforms (complete with antennae), gold metallic streetwear-inspired Marie Antoinette sneaks and crazy cat heels. We are definitely inspired to design a few costumes that will coordinate with this shoe candy! MEOW.

Over at SOURCING, we networked with new suppliers at the Made in America section who specialized in so many amazing new technologies, like light reactive printing (awesome!). We also met with vendors who are on the forefront of sublimation printing, and an L.A. based company that creates custom-designed jewelry (sweet!).

As always, the shows were simultaneously exhilarating exhausting. We probably walked 50 miles over the last two days. I think it's safe to say that our feet need a cocktail.
